Pune, 14th April 2026: A grand joint tribute ceremony was held in Pune on the occasion of the 135th birth anniversary of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar.

The event, organised by the Bharatratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti Central Committee, took place at the Pune District Collectorate premises at 10 am, bringing together leaders from political, social and administrative sectors to pay homage to the architect of the Indian Constitution.

Prominent dignitaries present at the programme included Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil, Minister of State Madhuri Misal, MLAs Bapusaheb Pathare and Chetan Tupe, and former MLC Mohan Joshi. Pune Mayor Manjusha Nagpure and Deputy Mayor Parshuram Wadekar, along with several corporators and senior leaders, also attended the ceremony.

Among others present were Ganesh Bidkar, corporator Nilesh Alhat, senior leader Balasaheb Janrao, Republican Party of India city president Sanjay Sonawane, Nationalist Congress Party city president Shrikant Patil, Central Committee president Rahul Dambale, and Mahipal Waghmare, along with several other dignitaries.

Divisional Commissioner Chandrakant Kundalwar and Social Welfare Commissioner Deepa Mudhol-Munde, along with other government officials, offered floral tributes to the statue of Dr. Ambedkar. The programme began with a ceremonial band salute, followed by a collective Buddha Vandana and Bhim Stuti in the presence of Buddhist monks.

The event concluded with the reading of the Preamble of the Constitution in the presence of Minister of State Madhuri Misal.

The programme was organised under the guidance of Central Committee president Rahul Dambale. Key contributions were made by Rahul Nagtilak, Vitthal Gaikwad and other members of the organising committee, ensuring the successful execution of the event.
