Pune: Ordered Veg, Got Chicken Biryani: Dhanori Man Approaches Police to Lodge Complaint
Pune, 30th October 2026: A biryani order took an unexpected turn for a 28-year-old Dhanori resident after he allegedly discovered pieces of chicken in a parcel he had ordered as vegetarian from an eatery on Porwal Road in Lohegaon on Tuesday night.
The manager at a private finance company in Yerawada had placed the order through an online food delivery app after checking the eatery’s menu. However, he realised something was amiss only after opening the parcel and eating a few morsels.
The man, whose family follows a vegetarian diet, allegedly vomited twice and felt dizzy after discovering that the biryani contained chicken. He approached the Vishrantwadi police on Wednesday and lodged a complaint.
Inspector Sampatrao Raut of the Vishrantwadi police said the complainant had ordered veg biryani after checking the menu but allegedly received chicken biryani instead.
