Pune: BJP Vyapari Aghadi Submits Memorandum to Lenskart Over Dress Code Policy
Shivajinagar, 29th April 2026: Amid the ongoing controversy over the “Dress Code and Grooming Policy” for Lenskart employees, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Vyapari Aghadi, Pune City, submitted a memorandum to the company on Tuesday.
Members of the traders’ wing visited a Lenskart store on Jangali Maharaj (JM) Road and handed over a written representation outlining their concerns. The organisation stated that companies and institutions should ensure equality and transparency in their policies with respect to all religions, traditions, and cultural symbols. It also said that such issues could affect customer trust and social harmony.
Mahesh Gupta, President of BJP Vyapari Aghadi, Pune City, said businesses have a responsibility to be sensitive to the sentiments of the trading community and the wider public. He added that the organisation would continue to raise concerns over issues it views as discriminatory and remain engaged on matters affecting traders and society.

Strict implementation of a uniform and clear policy across all branches.
Ensuring that there is no discrimination against any religion.
Maintaining transparent communication to build trust between customers and employees.
Taking concrete measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
The event saw the presence of several office bearers including Vikram Chavan, Sudhindra Kulkarni, Darshan Ratansheth Kirad, Gajendra Deshpande, Bharat Rathod, Amol Badhe, Hari Sonar, Abhijit Chhajed, Kumar Khatri, Jhunjhar Patil, Karna Reddy, Ojas Kothadia, Anand Mudvikar, Madhuri Marathe, Unni Raghavan, Ganesh Mali, along with a large number of party workers.
