Pimpri Chinchwad: 19-Year-Old Youth Murdered in Thergaon Over Relationship Dispute, Two Arrested

Thergaon, 9th May 2026: A 19-year-old youth was killed and his friend seriously injured after they were allegedly attacked with a knife and chopper in Thergaon late on Thursday night. Police have arrested two accused in connection with the murder.

According to police, the incident took place around 11 pm and was reportedly linked to a dispute over the victim’s relationship with a young woman. The girl’s mother was allegedly opposed to the relationship. One of the accused is said to be the mother’s boyfriend, who had reportedly warned the victim to stay away from her daughter.

Senior Police Inspector Rajendra Bahirat said tensions had been brewing between the victim and the accused over the relationship.

On Thursday night, the accused allegedly confronted the youth in Thergaon, leading to an argument that soon turned violent. In a fit of rage, they allegedly attacked him with a knife and chopper, repeatedly stabbing him on the hand, stomach, and neck.

The victim’s friend, who tried to intervene and rescue him, was also allegedly attacked and seriously injured.

The 19-year-old died in the attack, while his injured friend is currently undergoing treatment.

A complaint has been lodged by the victim’s father at Kalewadi Police Station. The two accused were produced before a court, which remanded them to five days of police custody.

Police are conducting further investigations into the case.
