Pune: Relative Arrested Under POCSO Act for Alleged Assault on 8-Year-Old Girl
Yewalewadi, 18th May 2026: Kondhwa police have arrested a man for allegedly sexually assaulting an eight-year-old girl in the Yewalewadi area of Pune. A case has been registered against the accused under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
According to police, the accused is related to the victim’s family. Both families are originally from Nepal and are currently residing in Pune for work.
The incident came to light after the girl informed her family members, following which a complaint was lodged with the police. The accused was subsequently arrested.
The victim has undergone a medical examination, and the accused has been remanded to police custody till May 18. Further investigation is underway.
