NEET Paper Leak Case: CBI Questions 10-15 Students Daily, Probe Intensifies in Pune and Latur
Pune, 21st May 2026: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has intensified its probe into the alleged NEET paper leak case and is carrying out detailed technical and financial investigations to trace the roots of the suspected racket. According to sources, the agency is questioning around 10 to 15 students and their parents every day as part of the ongoing investigation.
Investigators are examining whether students associated with the RCC coaching institute in Latur, run by arrested accused Shivraj Motegaonkar, benefited from the leaked question paper. The CBI on Tuesday reportedly questioned Motegaonkar’s son for nearly five to six hours in connection with the case.
Students from the RCC coaching institute have been asked to appear before the CBI office along with their parents. Officials are probing whether any students received advance access to the NEET question paper and answer keys before the examination conducted on May 3.
So far, 10 persons have been arrested in the case. Among those questioned are Shivraj Motegaonkar, Prof. P. V. Kulkarni and Manisha Mandhare. Investigators are examining financial transactions, links between middlemen, and the communication channels allegedly used to circulate the leaked paper.
The agency is also probing how the question paper and answer keys allegedly reached students before the examination. Officials are expected to question more people associated with the NEET examination process in the coming days.
During the course of the investigation, beauty parlour owner Manisha Waghmare from Bibvewadi was also arrested. According to investigators, Waghmare had allegedly called Manisha Mandhare to her residence to guide students. During the meeting, Mandhare allegedly shared NEET examination questions and answer keys with students ahead of the test.
Sources said the CBI is closely examining financial dealings between the accused persons, students and parents, along with communication records and possible money transfers linked to the alleged paper leak.
Meanwhile, a CBI team from Delhi inspected the locker of arrested professor Manisha Mandhare at a reputed college in Pune. During the search, officials reportedly seized old question papers and several important documents. Investigators believe the examination of these documents may help uncover further links in the case.
