‘Every Citizen’s Contribution and the Philosophy of Karmayoga Essential for a Developed India’ : Avinash Dharmadhikari

Pune, 28th May 2026: “Sustainable development forms the core architectural foundation of Indian progress. The timeless Indian philosophy of returning to nature what we take from it will serve as a guiding light for the world. If we understand the principles of Karmayoga and integrate them into our management practices—while treating every element of nature, alongside humanity, as one large global family—the dream of a Developed India (Viksit Bharat) will undoubtedly be realized,” expressed retired IAS officer Avinash Dharmadhikari.

The 49th Foundation Day of the Pune Management Association (PMA) was celebrated on Wednesday at the CPR Auditorium, Pashan Road, Ganeshkhind, centered around the inspiring theme of ‘Viksit Bharat’. Avinash Dharmadhikari was speaking as the keynote speaker.

A Holistic Vision for Progress

Earlier in the program, PMA President Bal Patil reviewed the association’s impactful journey and shared insights into the upcoming initiatives planned for its Golden Jubilee year.

Delving deeper into India’s developmental path, Avinash Dharmadhikari noted, “In seeking human progress, if we prioritize mental, psychological, and spiritual well-being alongside material and economic growth, no obstacle can hinder the realization of a Developed India. Blindly mimicking Western models has brought humanity to the brink of destruction. Today, the entire world is battling environmental degradation due to the unchecked exploitation of nature. However, the Indian perspective on development is fundamentally different. To turn the dream of a Developed India into reality, the active contribution of every citizen is indispensable.”

Banking and Youth : The Twin Pillars

Prasenjit Fadnavis emphasized that the education and banking sectors will be pivotal in achieving the goals of ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’. “Banking is the backbone of the nation’s economy, while the youth, nurtured by the education sector, will be the driving force in bringing the vision of a developed India to fruition by 2047,” he stated.

Strategic Framework and Regional Impact

Aditya Pittie shared a detailed analysis of various government initiatives and outlined the strategic policy framework essential for this transformation. He confidently stated that a ‘Developed Pune’ would play a monumental role in shaping a ‘Developed India’.

The Role of Innovation and Renewable Energy

Virendra Sud stressed the urgency of transitioning to alternative energy sources. “If the nation aspires to be truly developed, we must actively advance technically in solar, wind, and hydro energy. Sustainable development cannot be fully achieved until India’s banking framework seamlessly integrates with global systems, and substantial, groundbreaking work is done in the fields of Research and Development (R&D),” he remarked.
