Poona Club continue Winning Spree at PYC-Goldfieldd Late Raju Bhalekar Trophy
Pune, May 29, 2026: Poona Club Continue their winning Spree in the group league encounters at the fifth edition of the “PYC-Goldfieldd Late Raju Bhalekar Trophy” Invitation Under-19 Cricket Tournament, organised by PYC Hindu Gymkhana
At the Desire Sports Ground, Poona Club registered a comprehensive 9-wicket victory over United Sports Club. Skipper Rugved Choudhari starred with the ball claiming 4 for 7, while Aryan Hingane and Saad Pathan chipped in with two wickets each to bundle out United Sports Club for 77 in 18.4 overs. In reply, Aniket Shinde smashed an unbeaten 53 off just 29 balls with nine boundaries and two sixes as Poona Club cruised to 79 for 1 in 11.3 overs. Rugved Choudhari was adjudged the Man of the Match.
At Shinde High School Ground, Kedar Jadhav Cricket Academy edged past Club of Maharashtra by one wicket in a thrilling finish. Club of Maharashtra posted 168 in 33.2 overs with useful contributions from Sayyog Bhosale (46), Pradyumna Dhond (44) and Sumit Kokare (37). Pranav Shinde led the bowling effort with 3 for 47. Chasing the target, Atharv Shelke’s explosive 54 off 32 balls helped KJCA reach 169 for 9 in 35.5 overs. Pranav Shinde was named Man of the Match.
At the PYC Ground, hosts PYC defeated Zorashtrians by 45 runs. Batting first, PYC scored 246 in 43.3 overs riding on Atharva Vaidya’s composed 76 and Shlok Joshi’s quickfire 54. Jay Danawale and Tanuj Kale picked up three wickets each for Zorashtrians. In reply, Premraj Jagdale fought hard with a brilliant 85, but Yash Adhikari’s four-wicket haul ensured Zorashtrians were bowled out for 201 in 41.2 overs. Yash Adhikari earned the Man of the Match award.
At Sunny XI Cricket Ground, Handewadi, Trinity registered a 3-wicket win over Cadence. Cadence were restricted to 106 in 31.4 overs with Adwait Dere claiming 4 for 13. Trinity chased down the target scoring 109 for 7 in 20.3 overs with Aman Singh top-scoring with 32. Adwait Dere was declared Man of the Match.
