Pune, 9th June 2016: The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has allotted flats to 330 beneficiaries from the waiting list of its housing schemes in Sector Nos. 12 and 30-32 after several successful applicants from the original lottery either surrendered their units or failed to confirm them within the stipulated period.

PMRDA had conducted a lottery on April 8, 2026, for 1,029 housing units in the two schemes. A total of 871 applicants were declared successful, while 3,841 applicants were unsuccessful. Another 655 applicants were placed on the waiting list. The successful beneficiaries were given time from April 11 to April 24 to either accept or surrender their allotted flats.

According to PMRDA officials, only 401 of the 871 successful beneficiaries accepted their flats. The remaining 470 either surrendered their allotments before the issuance of provisional allotment letters or failed to exercise their option within the prescribed deadline. As a result, PMRDA activated the category-wise waiting list on June 8 to fill the vacant units.

Following the process, 330 beneficiaries from the waiting list have now been declared successful after final approval. The selected beneficiaries belong to various categories under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and Low-Income Group (LIG) segments in Sector Nos. 12 and 30-32, including General, Scheduled Castes and Neo-Buddhists, Scheduled Tribes, Vimukta Jatis, Nomadic Tribes and Persons with Disabilities.

PMRDA has provided the newly selected beneficiaries with an online option to either accept or surrender their allotted flats between June 9 and June 18. Joint Commissioner of the Land and Property Department Poonam Mehta appealed to beneficiaries to complete the online process within the stipulated period.

Officials said beneficiaries who accept the allotment will be required to pay 25 per cent of the flat cost within 45 days. Those opting for a home loan can obtain a no-objection certificate after paying 10 per cent of the amount, while the remaining payment must be completed within 60 days.
