Pune, 12th June 2026: If you have tried to book a monsoon Sahyari batch with TrekPanda over the last 2 to 3 seasons and ended up on the waitlist, then this new feature is for you. Starting this month, TrekPanda is running weekday departures on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday across 18 Sahyadri treks for the monsoon season 2026. Same trek leaders, same group sizes, same everything, with slightly lower price.

Why TrekPanda Is Starting Weekday Trails In The Sahaydri Region 2026

The decision to launch weekday departures followed a pattern the company has been tracking for 3 consecutive monsoon seasons. Weekend batches for flagship Sahyadris trails got sold out within 24 to 48 hours of being announced. This leaves a significant portion of TrekPanda’s registered community waitlisted for weeks. In several cases, trekkers on waitlists for treks like Andharban and Harihar Fort have missed the monsoon window entirely by the time a spot opens.

“The Sahaydri in monsoon is a short window,” said Sunny Chordiya, Co-Founder, TrekPanda. “Practically speaking, you have about 12 to 14 weekends between June and September where conditions are genuinely ideal. We had people missing Harihar in three consecutive years because the Saturday and Sunday batches were gone. Weekday departures are our answer to that problem.”

The second major reason was a shift in how TrekPanda’s core community works. A growing segment of their community is freelancers, remote workers, consultants, and professionals with flexible schedules who are not constrained by the Monday-to-Friday office structures. For this group, a Tuesday departure is a meaningful better experience.

There is one more reason that shows up in every post-Trek conversation trekkers have. Weekday treks are quieter, and the Sahyadri in monsoon is very different without a hundred people on the same trail. The forest sounds different when your group is the only one in it, with a few more people. The waterfall does not look crowded, and nobody is actually photobombing your pictures. Harihar’s 117 steps feel different without the weekend crowd pressing from below. Weekday departures for this monsoon season are not just about availability. They are also about giving back the version of these trails that most people will remember in their true sense.

Their weekday departures will have the same group-size limit, trek leader deployment, and on-the-ground support as weekend batches. Pricing for weekday slots will be slightly lower than the weekend packages.

How Does Sahaydri Look in Monsoon Across Different Treks

TrekPanda’s weekday schedule covers various Sahaydri treks across three categories: fort and summit treks, jungle and wilderness walks, and waterfall and canyon treks. The full weekday departure schedule includes:

Fort and Summit Treks – 6 treks

Harihar Fort Trek, Bhairavgad, Harishchandragad Trek, Rajmachi, Korigad, and Visapur. These cover the full range, from accessible first-time forts to technical climbs that require fixed-rope assistance.

Jungle and Wilderness Walks – 6 Treks

Andharban, Aadrai Jungle Trek, Bhimashankar, Vasota, Gorakhgad, and Peb Fort. These prioritize forest immersion and wildlife habitat over summit elevation.

Waterfall and Canyon Destinations – 5 Treks

Devkund Waterfall, Kalu Waterfall, Lingya Ghat Waterfall, Kataldhar, and Madheghat with Rappelling. These are water-active treks where monsoon flow is the primary draw.

Across all 18 treks, TrekPanda runs departures from both Mumbai and Pune with pickup points confirmed at the time of booking. Transport, guide, and entry arrangements are all included in all the packages.

The Adrenaline Treks – Harihar Fort, and Bhairavgad

Harihar Fort, Nashik District

Harihar Fort, also known as the Harshagad, is located in the Nashik district near the base village of Nirgudpada, approximately 48 km from Nashik city and 120 km from Mumbai. What makes Harihar Fort unlike any other fort trek in Maharashtra is its rectangular shape, visible from a kilometer away. The two edges of the fort rise vertically at 90 degrees. 1 meter wide staircase of 117 rock-cut steps, carved directly into a near-vertical rock at a 75 degree incline with handholds chiseled into the stone beside each step.

These stairs are the only route to the summit; there is no alternative approach to reach the top of Harihar Fort. That’s why it’s the most adrenaline rush trek in Maharashtra. From the summit, the view extends to Basgad, Anjaneri, Brahmagiri, and Utwad Fort on clear days. Within the walls of the fort, there are a Hanuman temple and a Shiva temple. The most amazing fact about this trek is that the descent is from the same staircase. TrekPanda runs Harihar Fort trek batches with a strict group size.

Bhairavgad, Malshej Region

Bhairavgad sits in the Malshej Ghat region of Ahmednagar district within the same mountain range as Harishchandragad. It is a technical fort climb that requires the use of fixed ropes on an exposed rock face. The summit ridge is narrow enough that managing a group requires a specific skill set.

In the monsoon. Bhairvagad trek starts through a valley, and the surrounding terrain includes dramatic waterfalls that are only active in the monsoon window. TrekPanda places this trek firmly in the experiences trekkers category and briefs all participants on the rope-assisted section before departure.

Beyond the Popular Circuit: Andharban, Aadrai, Bhimashankar, and Vasota Make the Weekday List

If the adrenaline tests physical limits, the wilderness walks in weekday batches test something quieter. The ability to move through forests that have not changed meaningfully in centuries and pay attention to what is happening in them.

Andharban, Tamini Ghat Region

Andharban translates as “dark forest,” and actually, the name is not metaphorical. The Andharban name refers to the canopy density of the forest above the Tamhini plateau in Pune district. There are extended stretches where trekkers move with no direct sunlight reaching the trail floor. The trek descends from the plateau to Bhira Village, making it a linear route that requires transport pickup.

Aadrai, Raigad District

Another jungle trek that added to the list of weekday batches, and one of the least-known as well. The trail moves through dense secondary forest and active stream systems in the Raigad district. Also, the trail features Kalu Waterfall, a stunning sight, and the Nageshwar Temple caves offer fascinating insight into local history.

Bhimashankar, Pune District

Most people know Bhimashankar as one of India’s twelve Jyotirlingas. Fewer know that the Bhima River, which travels 861 kilometers through the Deccan Plateau before joining the Krishna River in Karnataka, begins its journey here inside the Wildlife Sanctuary. This hidden spot is known as Gupt Bhimashankar. It is a natural Shiva Linga formation hidden beneath a rock and accessible only as a 1.5-hour detour from the main temple. Apart from the Indian Giant Squirrel, you can also find other animals such as the leopard, barking deer, sambar, langurs, Malabar grey hornbill, and jungle fowl. The jungle has two trekking routes: the Ganesh Ghat route and the Shidi Ghat. The Shidi Ghat route is a technical climb, shorter in distance but physically more demanding. During the monsoon, the Bhimashankar forest floor also has bioluminescent fungi; although not guaranteed, it can only occur in this season.

Now, you can experience this fascinating wilderness even during the weekdays to avoid the weekend rush.

Why the Sahyadri Trails Deserve to Be Visited Exclusively in Monsoon

Most trekking destinations in India are at their best outside the monsoon window, but when you talk about Sahyadri, then it is the complete opposite. The Western Ghats receive between 2000 and 6000 mm of annual rainfall, mainly during June and September. The waterfalls that define most Sahyadri waterfall treks either do not exist or are barely visible outside the monsoon.

Harihar fort appearing and disappearing through moving clouds at 7 AM on a monsoon morning is a visual experience that photographs cannot even capture. The forest ecology, like birds, mammals, and local flora and fauna, is also active during the monsoon. The Malabar Whistling Thrush, the Paradise Flycatcher, and other endemic species are seen during this time. The Bhimashankar Shekru is more active in these monsoon conditions.

“We have done every major Sahaydri trail in every season”, said Pushkar Bhandari, Co-founder, TrekPanda. “There is not a single one that is better in any other season than it is in monsoon. We have started weekday departures for monsoon season 2026 so that more people can access this beautiful window of Sahyadri and avoid the weekend traffic on these routes”.
