Pune: Admissions Open for 2026–27 at Krantijyoti Savitribai Phule Government Girls’ Hostel in Yerawada

Yerawada, 19th June 2026: The Department of Social Justice and Special Assistance, Government of Maharashtra, has started the admission process for the academic year 2026–27 at the Krantijyoti Savitribai Phule Government Girls’ Hostel in Yerawada. The hostel is inviting applications from girls studying in Classes 11 and 12 across all streams, with officials urging students from backward communities and economically disadvantaged backgrounds to make use of the facility.

The government hostel has a capacity of 85 students and offers admission to girls pursuing Higher Secondary education in any stream. Seats will be allotted as per the government’s reservation policy for students belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Vimukta Jati and Nomadic Tribes (VJNT), Other Backward Classes (OBC), as well as differently-abled and orphaned girls, subject to the availability of vacancies.

Students admitted to the hostel will receive free accommodation, nutritious meals, stationery, bedding and a monthly maintenance allowance of ₹1,500 under the Social Welfare Department’s welfare scheme. The hostel is also equipped with a computer laboratory and a modern library to support students’ academic development.

The department has made online applications mandatory. Eligible students must submit their applications through the official portal: https://hmasnew.mahait.org.

The Social Welfare Department has appealed to eligible girls to apply in large numbers, stating that the initiative is aimed at ensuring that financial constraints do not become a barrier to continuing higher secondary education.
