Students Perform Street Play for Environmental Conservation
Pune, 22nd June 2026: A joint initiative by the Rotary Club of Pune Gandhi Bhavan and District Court Metro Station organized the “Youth Green Express” and “Save Environment Awareness Street Play” programs at the metro station premises.
As part of the event, students from Gyandeep English Medium School, Narhe and Maharshi Karve School, Warje (Rotary School) presented an impactful street play to raise awareness about environmental conservation among citizens. Through their performance, the students encouraged people to celebrate birthdays, festivals, and social events in an eco-friendly manner. They also highlighted the importance of preventing pollution, proper waste management, reducing plastic usage, and ensuring the safe disposal of industrial waste.
The program was attended by District Environment Director Mr. Rajendra Saraf, who guided the students on environmental issues. First Lady Rotarian Tanuja Marathe also addressed the students and encouraged them to share videos of the street play on social media to spread environmental awareness.
Among the dignitaries present were District Officer Santosh Pardeshi, Ashwini Shiredar, President of the Rotary Club of Pune Gandhi Bhavan, Rotary members, and other distinguished guests.
During the event, students were distributed steel water bottles to promote the reduction of plastic bottle usage. Officials from Maha Metro were also present for the program.
