Traffic Advisory: Palkhi Route Curbs From July 11, Pune–Solapur Diversions Till July 8
Pune, 30th June 2026: The district administration has issued a traffic diversion plan for vehicles travelling along the route of the Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhi procession, with restrictions and alternate routes to remain in place between July 11 and July 18.
District Collector Jitendra Dudi issued the order in view of the annual palkhi procession, which will commence from Alandi on July 8. Traffic diversions in the rural parts of Pune district will be implemented during the procession to ensure smooth movement of devotees and maintain law and order.
According to the order, traffic from Pune to Saswad via Dive Ghat and Bopdev Ghat will remain completely closed from 2 am on July 11 to midnight on July 13. Vehicles travelling from Pune to Saswad will be diverted via Khadi Machine Chowk–Katraj–Kapurhol, while traffic from Saswad towards Pune will be routed through Garade–Khed Shivapur.
For the Saswad–Jejuri and Jejuri–Walhe stretches, from 2 am on July 13 to midnight on July 14, vehicles travelling between Pune and Nira via Saswad, Jejuri and Walhe will be diverted through Zendewadi–Pargaon Memane–Supe–Morgaon–Nira.
On the Walhe–Lonand route, traffic restrictions will remain in force from 2 am to 5 pm on July 15. Vehicles travelling between Pune and Nira via Saswad, Jejuri and Walhe will instead be diverted through Saswad–Jejuri–Morgaon.
For the stretch beyond Lonand towards Phaltan, from July 15 to July 18, traffic between Pune and Phaltan/Lonand will be diverted via Shirwal in both directions.
The district administration has appealed to motorists to use the designated alternate routes and cooperate with the traffic arrangements during the palkhi procession.
Diversions on Pune–Solapur highway to Felicitate Flyover Works
The district administration has also announced a traffic diversion for heavy vehicles on the Pune–Solapur highway due to repair work on the railway flyover at Theur Phata.
District Collector Jitendra Dudi has directed that heavy vehicles travelling from Theur Phata towards Lonikand be diverted until midnight on July 8, 2026, to facilitate the repair work.
According to the order, heavy vehicles will be diverted from Kedgaon Chowphula via Nhavare–Talgaon Dhamdhere–Shirur before rejoining the route towards Lonikand.
The district administration has appealed to motorists, particularly operators of heavy vehicles, to use the designated alternate route and cooperate with the traffic arrangements during the repair work.
