Pune: Alleged Chat Shows Siya Goyal Saying ‘Wedding Was Never Going to Happen’ Weeks Before Ketan’s Death
Pune, 4th July 2026: Investigators probing the murder of businessman Ketan Agarwal have begun examining a purported screenshot of a Snapchat conversation allegedly involving the prime accused, Siya Goyal, in which she reportedly claimed that her planned wedding “was never going to happen” nearly three weeks before the killing.
The alleged chat, dated May 25, has surfaced during the investigation into the death of 26-year-old Ketan Agarwal, who police claim was pushed into a gorge at Lohagad Fort by his fiancée Siya Goyal (20) and her alleged boyfriend Chetan Chaudhary (22).
According to the purported conversation, Siya asked a friend to send photographs of both sides of her Aadhaar card for booking flight tickets for the wedding. In the same message, she allegedly wrote that the wedding “was never going to happen” but asked her friend to share the document nevertheless.
The friend is seen replying that the Aadhaar card had already been shared on WhatsApp.
Police are now verifying the authenticity of the screenshot and examining whether the alleged request for flight bookings was part of an attempt to create a misleading narrative or divert suspicion after the crime.
Investigators have not established whether the friend was aware of any alleged conspiracy. However, police have identified a third person, believed to be a classmate of Chetan Chaudhary, who allegedly had prior knowledge of the plan to kill Agarwal.
The purported chat is being treated as part of the ongoing investigation, and police said its evidentiary value will depend on the outcome of forensic verification and other corroborative evidence collected during the probe.
