Pune/Mumbai, 6th July 2026: Incessant heavy rainfall across Maharashtra has triggered a major landslide in the Bhor Ghat section, severely disrupting train services on the crucial Mumbai–Pune railway corridor.

According to officials from the Central Railway and Pune District Administration, the landslide occurred near Tunnel No. 40 (BB EMD) in the Thakurvadi (TKW) to Monkey Hill Loop Cabin (MHLC) section of the Mumbai (BB) Division. The slide brought down a massive volume of debris and boulders, blocking the Up Main Line and Middle Line, which has thrown train schedules into disarray.
