Alandi, 6th July 2026: In a major safety move following heavy monsoon rainfall, the Alandi Municipal Council has temporarily closed all bridges spanning the Indrayani River in the temple town of Alandi. The local administration has issued an urgent public notice warning devotees, Warkaris (pilgrims), and local residents to stay away from the riverbed and its banks.

The precautionary closure was prompted by a rapid rise in the water level of the Indrayani River, posing a significant risk to commuters and pedestrians.

Administrative Directive and Safety Restrictions
According to an official release signed by Madhav Khandekar, the Chief Officer of the Alandi Municipal Council, the decision to block access to the bridges was taken strictly as a preventive safety measure to safeguard human lives.

He also urged citizens not to believe or spread unverified rumors regarding the flood situation and to strictly follow official updates and instructions issued by the municipal administration.
