Pune, 6th July 2026: The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has launched large-scale rescue and relief operations across the Pune Metropolitan Region as incessant rainfall continues to trigger flooding, landslides, and waterlogging in several areas. The PMRDA’s Pune Disaster Response Force (PDRF) and Fire Department teams are working round the clock to respond to emergency calls and assist affected residents.

Authorities said multiple rescue operations are currently underway across Maval, Lonavala, Talegaon, Hinjawadi, Marunji, Chakan, Alandi, and Dehu, with teams coordinating closely with local administration and other emergency response agencies.

In the Maval-Lonavala-Talegaon region, rescue teams have been dispatched to Patan Boraj Road after reports that four people were trapped when a landslide struck a house. At Malavli and Patan village, personnel are evacuating residents stranded due to landslides and floodwaters that entered homes. In Patan village, a joint rescue operation by the PDRF and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) is being carried out on a war footing.

At HUDCO Colony and the Vedant Academy area in Lonavala, PDRF teams have reached the site and are working with local authorities to assess the situation and implement necessary safety measures.

Rescue personnel have also been rushed to Aptegaon near Pawna Lake, where preliminary reports indicate that around 20 to 30 people are stranded following a landslide.

In Dhanore village near Alandi, firefighters cleared a fallen tree that had blocked a road following strong winds and heavy rain, while precautionary measures have been strengthened in Alandi and other vulnerable locations. In Dehugaon, residents are being shifted to safer places after floodwater entered residential areas and houses.

The PMRDA has appealed to citizens not to believe or circulate rumours on social media or other unofficial platforms. Residents have been advised to rely only on official updates and strictly follow instructions issued by the administration, particularly in flood-prone areas.
