Khadakwasla, 8th July 2026: The Khadakwasla Irrigation Division has reduced the discharge from the Khadakwasla Dam into the Mutha River following a rapid decline in the reservoir’s water level.

According to the Irrigation Department, the water release was reduced from 27,203 cusecs to 18,271 cusecs at 12:30 pm on Wednesday.

Officials said the discharge may be increased or decreased again depending on rainfall in the dam’s catchment area and the inflow into the reservoir. Citizens have been advised to stay alert as the release pattern could change at short notice.

The Executive Engineer of the Khadakwasla Irrigation Division has appealed to residents not to enter the Mutha riverbed under any circumstances. People have also been asked to immediately remove any livestock, equipment, or other materials from the riverbed.

Authorities have instructed officials to alert residents living in low-lying areas and take necessary precautionary measures. The Irrigation Department has urged the public to remain vigilant and follow all safety advisories issued by the administration.
