Ticket Checker Suspended After Unauthorised ‘Honeymoon’ Decoration of First AC Coupe on Nandigram Express
New Delhi, 8th July 2026: The South Central Railway has suspended a travelling ticket examiner (TTE) after an unauthorised decorator was allowed to enter and decorate a First AC coupe aboard the Nandigram Express, raising serious concerns over railway security and protocol.
According to railway officials, the incident occurred on July 6 on Train No. 11002 Nandigram Express, where a couple travelling in a First AC coupe had reportedly hired a private decorator through an online platform to decorate their compartment, apparently as part of their honeymoon celebrations.
The decorator gained access to the coach without official authorisation and carried out the decorations inside the reserved compartment.
Railway authorities described the incident as a significant breach of security procedures, as only authorised personnel are permitted to enter restricted areas of trains.
Following the incident, the ticket checker responsible for the coach has been placed under suspension pending further investigation.
The South Central Railway has also ordered a detailed departmental inquiry to determine how the unauthorised individual was allowed access to the train and whether any established protocols were violated.
Officials said further disciplinary action will be taken based on the findings of the inquiry.
