Ravet. 9th July 2026: Tensions flared in Ravet on Wednesday when Maval MP lost his temper after residents confronted him over a prolonged power outage that has left several housing societies without electricity for more than 72 hours.

Barne had visited the area to meet residents a day after they staged a protest outside the office of the MSEDCL, demanding immediate restoration of power. Electricity supply to several societies was disrupted during heavy rain earlier this week and had not been restored even after three days.

During the interaction, agitated residents questioned the MP over what action he had taken despite representing the constituency for a third consecutive term. The remarks triggered an angry response from Barne, leading to a heated exchange.

Residents said the prolonged outage had caused severe inconvenience, forcing many housing societies to spend thousands of rupees on diesel to run backup generators. Several professionals, including those working from home, said they had to take leave from work due to the lack of electricity.
