Four PG Operators Booked in Pune for Failing to Provide Tenant Details
Chadannagar, 24th July 2026: Chandannagar Police have registered four cases against operators and owners of paying-guest accommodations for allegedly failing to provide details of their occupants to the police, Senior Police Inspector Ashwini Jagtap said.
“Four cases have been registered against PG operators and owners within the Chandannagar Police Station limits for not submitting information about people staying at their premises,” Jagtap said in a press statement.
According to Jagtap, the action was taken on July 21 after police found that rooms had allegedly been rented out without the required information being shared with Chandannagar Police Station.
“The operators had rented out rooms but failed to inform the local police. They were found to have knowingly disobeyed an order issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Special Branch, Pune city, on July 3, 2026,” she said.
“All four PG operators and owners have been booked under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita,” Jagtap added.
Warning operators of paying-guest facilities to comply with police directives, Jagtap said, “PG operators must remain alert. There will be no compromise on security, and legal action will be taken against those who fail to provide tenant details.”
The action was conducted jointly by the Special Branch Zone 7 team, the confidential squad of Chandannagar Police Station and the ATC squad under the guidance of senior Pune Police officers, she said.
