Hadapsar, 25th October 2026: A 26-year-old man has been reported to Hadapsar Police for allegedly travelling on a Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) bus using a counterfeit one-day pass, causing a financial loss of ₹70 to the transport undertaking.

The accused has been identified as Nishant Rajpal Kolhe, a resident of Hadapsar. The complaint was lodged by PMPML bus checker Sanjay Bhuguji Adhalge, 56.

According to the complaint, the incident occurred on Friday, October 23, at around 4 pm, when Kolhe was travelling on a PMPML bus bearing registration number MH 12 XM 6958. He had boarded the bus at a stop near Survey No. 15.

During the journey, conductor Akshay Jaybhai noticed that Kolhe was using a one-day bus pass that he claimed to have obtained through a mobile application. Suspecting that the pass had been generated through a fake application, the conductor informed bus checker Sanjay Jadhav at Gadital.

The passenger and the bus were subsequently taken to the Gadital depot, where officials examined the pass and found it to be counterfeit. The depot manager informed senior officials, following which bus checker Sanjay Adhalge also verified the pass.

According to the complaint, Kolhe allegedly used the counterfeit pass to travel without purchasing a valid ticket, resulting in a loss of ₹70 to PMPML.

Hadapsar Police are investigating the case.
