Maharashtra: Tourist Safely Rescued After Zipline Gets Stuck Over 3,500-Foot Gorge in Toranmal
Nandurbar, 30th July 2026: A tourist was safely rescued after getting stranded midway on a zipline suspended over a 3,500-foot-deep gorge at Sitakhai Point in Toranmal hill station in Maharashtra’s Nandurbar district on Thursday.
The incident occurred on the recently inaugurated zipline attraction at Sitakhai Point, a popular tourist destination in Toranmal, which is known as Maharashtra’s second coldest hill station. What began as an adventure ride quickly turned into a tense situation after the tourist became stuck mid-air due to a reported technical glitch.
According to reports, the zipline operators were immediately alerted and launched a rescue operation. After considerable effort, the team managed to reach the stranded tourist and safely bring them back to the ground. No injuries were reported in the incident.
Videos of the rescue have since gone viral on social media, showing the tourist suspended high above the gorge as rescue personnel worked to bring them to safety.
