Pune: CCTV Captures Police Van Ploughing Into Parked Vehicles in Sadashiv Peth
Pune, 4th August 2026: A police van rammed into seven parked vehicles in Pune’s busy Sadashiv Peth area, causing extensive damage but no casualties. CCTV footage of the incident has surfaced and is being widely shared on social media.
According to preliminary information, the accident occurred around three days ago in the congested locality, which witnesses heavy pedestrian and vehicular movement throughout the day. The police van allegedly went out of the driver’s control and crashed into a row of parked two-wheelers and four-wheelers along the roadside.
The impact damaged seven vehicles, drawing local residents, shopkeepers and passersby to the spot after hearing the loud collision.
Despite the severity of the crash, no one was injured as there were no pedestrians near the parked vehicles at the time of the incident. While the vehicles suffered significant damage, a major tragedy was averted.
The CCTV footage shows the police van speeding before crashing into the parked vehicles. However, the exact cause of the accident remains unclear. It is yet to be ascertained whether the crash was caused by a mechanical failure, such as brake failure, or driver negligence.
Although the incident took place three days ago, it came to light only after the CCTV footage emerged online. No official statement has been issued by the police so far regarding the circumstances leading to the accident or whether any inquiry has been initiated.
