Hinjawadi: NSG, US Commandos Rehearse Terror Response in High-Profile Drill at Infosys Pune

Pimpri-Chinchwad, 5th August 2026: The National Security Guard (NSG), in coordination with the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate, conducted a high-intensity mock drill simulating a terrorist attack at the Infosys Phase II campus in Hinjawadi on Wednesday to test emergency response and inter-agency coordination.
The exercise was conducted between 3 pm and 9 pm to evaluate the preparedness of security and emergency response agencies in handling a potential terror attack.
Commandos and officers from the NSG’s Mumbai-based 26 Special Composite Group participated in the drill. They were joined by 17 United States military commandos, who are currently undergoing joint training exercises with the NSG.
The operation also involved Force One, Maharashtra Police’s elite counter-terrorism unit, along with personnel from the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police’s Anti-Terrorism Branch, Quick Response Team (QRT), Riot Control Unit, Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS), Hinjawadi Police Station and Hinjawadi Traffic Division.

Representatives from the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation’s Disaster Management Department, the MIDC Hinjawadi Fire Service, ambulance services, senior Infosys officials and the company’s security team also participated in the exercise.
The mock scenario tested multiple aspects of emergency response, including the role of first responders, inter-agency coordination, crisis management, tactical intervention, neutralisation of attackers, bomb detection and disposal, and internal security protocols at the corporate campus.
“The objective of the mock drill was to strengthen coordination among all stakeholder agencies and enhance preparedness for responding swiftly and effectively to any terror-related emergency,” said DCP (Special Branch) Dheeraj Patil.
Senior officials from the NSG, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate and Infosys monitored the exercise, which concluded successfully after achieving its operational objectives.
