Six Stolen Motorcycles Worth Rs 4.8 Lakh Seized in Pune; 20-Year-Old Detained
Vishrantwadi, 8th August 2026: Vishrantwadi police have detained a 20-year-old man and seized six allegedly stolen motorcycles collectively valued at approximately ₹4.8 lakh, according to an official press note issued on Saturday.
The suspect has been identified as Omkar Rambhavan Yadav, a resident of Shantinagar in Yerawada. Police detained him while investigating vehicle-theft cases registered at Vishrantwadi Police Station.
Senior Police Inspector Rajendra Panhale said police personnel Waman Sawant and Sanjay Badare had received specific information about the suspect from an informant. Acting on the tip-off, the investigation team detained Yadav and questioned him in detail, leading to the recovery of the motorcycles, he said.
The seized vehicles comprise one KTM Duke, one Yamaha R15, two Yamaha RX100 motorcycles, one Splendor Plus and one Passion Plus. Police estimated their combined value at ₹4.8 lakh.
The operation was conducted under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police Manoj Patil of the Eastern Regional Division, Deputy Commissioner of Police Chilumula Rajanikanth of Zone IV and Assistant Commissioner of Police Sunil Jaitapurkar of the Yerawada Division. Senior Police Inspector Rajendra Panhale and Police Inspectors (Crime) Sampatrao Raut and Amar Kadam supervised the operation.
Assistant Police Inspector Sunil Ugale and police personnel Baban Vanve, Yashwant Kirve, Krishna Machare, Sanjay Badare, Waman Sawant, Sampat Bhosale, Vishal Gade, Dhaval Lonkar, Swapnil Kambale, Kishor Bhusare, Pramod Jadhav and Hina Sable carried out the operation.
