Pune: Amid Industry Exodus Fears, Minister Uday Samant to Meet Chakan Industrialists over Poor Roads and Infrastructure Woes

Pune, 13th August 2026: With reports highlighting the poor condition of roads in the Chakan industrial area and concerns over companies potentially shifting operations outside Maharashtra or to other districts, state industries minister Uday Samant on Wednesday spoke to representatives of industrial associations over the issue.

Samant held a telephonic discussion with office-bearers of the Chakan industrial association and said a meeting with industrialists and representatives of industrial bodies would be held in Chakan on August 16 at 4pm to understand their problems and work out solutions.

Chakan is a key industrial hub in Maharashtra and providing adequate infrastructure to industries and addressing the difficulties faced by entrepreneurs remains a priority for the government, Samant said.

“Instead of limiting the issues raised by entrepreneurs to discussions, we will understand their problems on the ground and work towards resolving them,” he said.

The minister said issues related to roads, traffic and other infrastructure would be reviewed in coordination with the concerned departments and efforts would be made to take immediate corrective measures.

Industrial associations in Chakan have also assured the minister that they would hold discussions in a constructive manner. The meeting is expected to focus on preventing industries from shifting out of Maharashtra and ensuring that existing industries remain in Chakan so that employment opportunities in the region are protected.

Samant said the government was committed to supporting the industrial development of Chakan and would engage with all stakeholders to take concrete decisions to address the concerns of entrepreneurs.
