Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate Gets 50 Acres for Permanent Headquarters
Pimpri-Chinchwad, August 14, 2026: The Maharashtra Government has allotted 20 hectares (approximately 50 acres) of land at Valhujmata Kshetra in Mouje Tathawade, Mulshi taluka, Pune district, for the construction of a permanent headquarters and allied facilities for the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate.
The land, currently under the jurisdiction of the Animal Husbandry Department, was formally handed over to the Police Commissionerate on August 13, marking a major step towards establishing an integrated police campus in Pimpri-Chinchwad.
The initiative was pursued under the leadership of Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissioner Vinoy Kumar Choubey, with sustained efforts by the Commissionerate to secure land for its headquarters and essential operational facilities.
The Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate was established on May 28, 2018, and began functioning on August 15, 2018. However, in the absence of a dedicated premises, its headquarters has been operating from temporary rented facilities.
The newly allotted land will be developed as an integrated police campus comprising the Office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Headquarters), police parade ground, recruitment ground, training facilities, Motor Transport Division, Quick Response Team (QRT) offices, police armoury and a police hospital.
The proposed campus will also include a running track and sports facilities, BDDR building, a school for children of police personnel, an indoor shooting range, residential accommodation for senior officers and police personnel, a multipurpose hall and other administrative and operational facilities.
According to the Police Commissionerate, the allotment marks the culmination of nearly eight years of efforts to establish a permanent campus for Pimpri-Chinchwad Police.
The process involved coordination with the Maharashtra Government, Revenue and Forest Department, Pune District Collectorate and Animal Husbandry Department, along with guidance from senior police officers.
The integrated campus is expected to strengthen police infrastructure in Pimpri-Chinchwad, improve administrative efficiency and operational preparedness, and provide better facilities for police personnel and citizens.
