Viman Nagar, 17th August 2026: This August, embark on a culinary journey to Kerala’s picturesque Malabar Coast as Novotel Pune Nagar Road brings the Malabar Food Festival to The Square from August 21 to August 31, 2026.
Showcasing the rich flavours and traditions of one of India’s most celebrated regional cuisines, the festival promises an authentic dining experience inspired by the heritage of the Malabar region.
Influenced by centuries of maritime trade and cultural exchange, Malabar cuisine is known for its fragrant spices, coconut-rich curries and recipes that have been cherished across generations. Every dish reflects the region’s unique blend of local ingredients and age-old cooking traditions.
The specially curated buffet features an extensive selection of authentic Malabar delicacies, including classics such as Avial, Kaalan, Pulissery, Erissery, Thoran, Appam with Stew, Kadala Curry, Koon Ulli Theeyal, Meen Pollichathu, Kozhi Varutharacha Curry, Nadan Kozhi Curry, Chemeen Moilee, Pazham Pori, Ada Pradhaman, Elaneer Payasam and Elanchi. Prepared using signature ingredients like coconut, fragrant rice and spices such as Tellicherry pepper, cardamom, cloves and cinnamon, each dish captures the true essence of Kerala’s coastal cuisine.
Adding to the experience are interactive live stations, where guests can enjoy freshly prepared Appam with Stew, Idiyappam with Kadala Curry, Karimeen Pollichathu, and Malabar Parotta with Ghee Roast, served hot and made to order by the chefs.
