Pune: PMC Officials Review Sanitation System in Newly Merged Sus, Direct Regular Inspections
Pune, 19th August 2026: Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) additional municipal commissioner Prajit Nair on Wednesday inspected the sanitation arrangements in Sus village, recently incorporated into the civic limits, and directed officials to take measures to improve cleanliness in the area.
Nair reviewed the existing sanitation system and interacted with sanitation workers to understand their daily operations and the challenges they face. Officials were instructed to take necessary measures to ensure more effective implementation of sanitation services.
The deputy commissioner, DSI and SI of the concerned civic circle were directed to regularly inspect the area, monitor cleanliness and take immediate corrective measures wherever required.
Nair also inspected waste segregation sheds in Balewadi and Baner and directed officials to strengthen vehicle management for garbage collection and transportation. The concerned departments were also instructed to prioritise civic works in the newly merged areas based on local requirements.
The civic administration said it was taking steps to make sanitation services in the newly added areas more efficient, regular and citizen-oriented.
PMC corporator Mayuri Kokate, deputy commissioner (solid waste management) Santosh Warule and other officials and staff were present during the inspection.
