Pune: Self-Styled YouTuber-‘Baba’ Arrested For Allegedly Seeking Nude Photos On Pretext of ‘Removing Negative Energy’
Kondhwa, 19th August 2026: A 23-year-old self-styled motivational speaker and social media influencer has been arrested for allegedly demanding semi-nude photographs from a 22-year-old woman under the pretext of removing “negative energy” from her body.
The complainant approached Kondhwa police station and stated that Divya Jitendra Parmar, a resident of Kondhwa Budruk, claimed to be a social influencer. He told her that negative energy had entered her body and that he needed her semi-nude photos to remove it through physical activity. Using threats, he allegedly obtained the photographs on his mobile phone.
Based on the complaint, police registered a case under Sections 75, 78, 79 and 318(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (outraging modesty), Section 3(2) of the Maharashtra Prevention and Eradication of Human Sacrifice and other Inhuman, Evil and Aghori Practices and Black Magic Act, 2013, and Section 67 of the Information Technology Act. Parmar was arrested and remanded to two days’ police custody. His mobile phone and laptop have been seized, and further investigation is underway.
Police sources said Parmar began promoting himself as a motivational speaker while pursuing a professional course in college. He started delivering speeches, launched a YouTube channel and built a following. He organised two to three seminars in Pune every year for his followers. Over time, he began referring to himself as “Baba,” with some devotees treating him as a divine figure.
According to investigators, Parmar would approach women and girls associated with his motivational sessions, offer exercise-related tips and demand nude or semi-nude photographs under the claim that they were required to track their progress. He is alleged to have misused these images in multiple cases.
