Pune, 19th August 2026: COEP Technological University has decided to revise its fee structure for students enrolling from the academic year 2026-27, with the aim of enabling more students to avail themselves of the state government’s tuition fee reimbursement schemes.

The decision was taken following representations received regarding the university’s fee structure and on the directions of Maharashtra Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil.

A meeting was held on Tuesday, August 18, in Minister Patil’s office in the presence of Additional Chief Secretary Reddy and other senior officials. The meeting reviewed the fee structure announced by COEP Technological University for the 2026-27 academic year.

Considering the demands raised by students and the government’s objective of making higher and technical education more accessible to students from the general population, Patil directed the university administration to restructure the fee structure.

As per the directions, the university will revise the fee structure for first-year students in accordance with the guidelines of the Fee Regulating Authority. The process of incorporating the component listed as ‘other fees’ into the academic fee is also being undertaken.

The revised fee structure is expected to particularly benefit students from the Other Backward Classes (OBC), Denotified Tribes (VJ), Nomadic Tribes (NT), Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), and Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC).

The restructuring is intended to enable eligible students to receive a greater benefit from the government’s tuition fee reimbursement schemes.
