Baramati, 23rd August 2026: A 14-year-old girl, the daughter of Ajit Dashavatare, personal assistant to MLA Rohit Pawar, was found dead in Baramati.

After learning about the incident, Pawar visited Baramati and met the Sub-Divisional Police Officer and the doctors concerned. He said the exact cause and circumstances of the girl’s death would become clear only after the post-mortem examination and police investigation.

“The exact reason for the incident will be known only after the post-mortem and police investigation. There should be no negligence in the probe,” Pawar said.

Pawar said Dashavatare had been working with him since the Zilla Parishad elections and urged the police to conduct a thorough investigation.

“Ajit has been working with me since the Zilla Parishad elections. The police will clarify when exactly the death occurred. What happened and how it happened will be known only after the investigation,” he said.

He added that the police should avoid rushing to conclusions and establish the exact sequence of events and the circumstances that led to the death.

“As the investigation is still underway, it would not be appropriate to comment on the incident at this stage,” Pawar said.

Meanwhile, Pawar also raised concerns over the alleged rise in crime and law-and-order issues in Baramati. Referring to the tenure of Ajit Pawar, he said crime levels in the town were lower when Ajit Pawar was in charge.

“During Ajit Dada’s tenure, crime in Baramati was lower. There was a sense of authority and fear of the law. Now, the law-and-order situation has deteriorated. Some people are threatening traders, and crime in Baramati has increased,” he said.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the teenager’s death. Further details are expected after the post-mortem examination and completion of the preliminary investigation.
