Pune: Two Workers Die After Falling Into Drain Chamber in Pradhikaran
Pimpri Chinchwad, 27th August 2026: Two workers died after falling into a chamber while carrying out work in Pradhikaran late Wednesday night, officials said.
The incident took place in front of Lokmanya Hospital in Pradhikaran. The fire brigade received information at around 11.56pm that two persons working in the area were stuck into the chamber.
Personnel from the Pradhikaran sub-fire station rushed to the spot and rescued the two workers from the chamber. They were handed over to the police and taken to YCM Hospital for treatment. However, hospital authorities later informed officials that both had died.
The deceased have been identified as Amol Sahebrao Shinde (19) and Manoj Baburao Shinde (23), both residents of Hingoli.
A team comprising leading fireman Kashinath Thakre, driver Sachin Sakhare, firemen Vivek Patil, Tejas Bidwe, Rupesh Borse and Sagar Ghuge, and trainee firemen Utkarsh Dange, Pawan Jadhav and Shivprasad Jadhav took part in the rescue operation.
Further details about the circumstances leading to the workers falling into the chamber were awaited.
