Pune: Two Mandals, DJ Operators Booked for Violating Laser-Light Restrictions in Kondhwa

Pune, 28th August 2026: Kondhwa police have registered two cases against the office-bearers of local mandals and two DJ operators for allegedly violating official restrictions on the use of laser-beam lights.
According to the police, the alleged violations occurred at Kondhwa Kamela between noon and 1.30 pm on August 26. The restrictions had been imposed through orders issued on August 24 by the Pune city police authorities ahead of Eid-e-Milad.
In the first case, police booked Umar Shabbir Sheikh, president of the H.F. Friend Circle Kamela Mandal, and Ganpat Tukaram Kamthe, a DJ operator from Narhe. The case was registered at 8.14 pm on August 28.
A second case was registered at 8.20 pm against Rahil Sayyad Mujawar, president of the Zulfikar Boys Mandal in Ashrafnagar, Kondhwa, and DJ operator Anwar Imtiyaz Sheikh of Pimple Gurav.
Police said that the accused knowingly violated orders restricting the use of laser-beam lights. The cases were registered under Sections 223 and 270 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, along with Sections 36 and 134 of the Maharashtra Police Act, 1951.
Further investigation is underway.
