Pune Police Take 50 Juveniles in Conflict With Law to Sinhagad Fort for Counselling
Pune, 29th August 2026: In an initiative aimed at helping juveniles in conflict with law move away from crime and rebuild their lives, Pune police took 50 such children from Zone III to the historic Sinhagad Fort on Raksha Bandhan for trekking and counselling.
The initiative was organised under the Pune police’s ‘Samvad Parivartan Yatra’, launched under the guidance of police commissioner Amitesh Kumar to help juveniles in conflict with law reintegrate into mainstream society, said DCP Sagar Kawade.
During the visit, the children were counselled on the importance of education, career opportunities and family values, besides being made aware of how involvement in crime could adversely affect their future. They were also guided on anger and stress management and ways to stay away from addiction.
The children were encouraged to draw inspiration from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and his Mavalas, who overcame adversity with courage, determination and perseverance, and were urged to take a pledge to bring positive change into their lives.
Kawade said the initiative had received a positive response from the children and would continue to address their problems and support their rehabilitation.
The programme was conducted with police personnel from several police stations, including Nanded City, Narhe, Uttamnagar, Sinhagad, Alankar, Kothrud and Warje.
The police said the initiative focuses not merely on policing but also on reform, rehabilitation and giving juveniles a positive direction for a safer and more dignified future.
