Pune: 30-Year-Old Man Arrested for Allegedly Killing Mother During Family Dispute
Vishrantwadi, 31st August 2026: A 48-year-old woman was allegedly beaten to death by her son following a family dispute in the Shantinagar area of Vishrantwadi, Pune, on Saturday night, police said.
The deceased has been identified as Savita Suresh Haribhakt (48), a resident of Shantinagar Vasahat in Vishrantwadi. Police have arrested her 30-year-old son, Aniket, in connection with the incident.
According to the police, Savita and Aniket had an argument over a family-related issue. The dispute reportedly escalated, following which Aniket allegedly assaulted his mother.
Savita sustained serious injuries in the assault. After receiving information about the incident, police personnel rushed to the spot and took her to a nearby hospital for treatment.
However, doctors declared her dead before treatment could begin.
Following the incident, police arrested Aniket and initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death. Further details regarding the exact cause of the dispute and the sequence of events are awaited.
