SIR Draft Electoral Roll Out Today, Pune Collector Urges Voters to Check Names

Pune, 31st August 2026: With the draft electoral roll prepared under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise set to be published on Monday(August 31), district collectors and election officials have urged voters to check their names and personal details at the earliest and report any discrepancies within the stipulated period.

The draft roll will be available on the Chief Electoral Officer of Maharashtra website and the Election Commission’s voters’ portal. Voters can also check the list through their respective Booth Level Officers (BLOs). Printed copies will be available at recognised political party offices, tehsil offices and electoral registration offices.

Officials have appealed to voters to check the entries of all family members, particularly senior citizens, those who have shifted residence and people whose enumeration forms could not be fully scrutinised during the SIR exercise. Voters have been advised to verify details including the spelling of their name, parents’ or spouse’s name, age, date of birth, gender, photograph, address, EPIC number and polling station.

Voters whose names are missing from the draft roll can apply for fresh registration through Form 6. Form 8 can be used to seek corrections in existing entries or obtain a replacement EPIC, while Form 7 can be submitted to raise an objection.

Claims and objections can be filed from August 31 to September 30. Hearings on the claims and objections will continue until October 19, following which the final electoral roll is scheduled to be published on November 4.

Election officials have clarified that voters whose names appeared in the 2025 electoral roll but are missing from the draft should not panic. Such voters may have been categorised under Absent, Shifted, Deceased, Duplicate or Others (ASDDO) as their enumeration forms could not be collected during the revision exercise.

Across Maharashtra, enumeration forms of around 2.07 crore voters could not be obtained during the SIR exercise, and a significant number of these voters may consequently not figure in the draft roll.

Pune district collector and district election officer Jitendra Dudi appealed to citizens to check the draft carefully and use the prescribed forms and online portals to rectify discrepancies or raise objections within the deadline.
