Pune: Water Supply to Remain Shut in Several PCMC Areas on Thursday
Pimpri Chinchwad, 1st Sept 2026: Water supply to several areas of Pimpri Chinchwad will remain suspended on Thursday (September 3) due to electrical work at the Chikhali water treatment plant, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) said.
The civic body is currently carrying out work on a new 200 MLD water treatment project at the plant. To connect a high-voltage cable to the power system, the high-voltage electricity supply to the plant will be shut from 10am to 6pm on Thursday.
As a result, water supply from the Chikhali plant will remain suspended in Borhadewadi, Indrayaninagar, sectors 4, 6, 9, 11 and 12, Sheev Road, Chakrapani Vasahat, Dhawade Vasti, Moshi, Charholi, Dudulgaon, Chovisawadi and surrounding areas.
The PCMC said water supply on Friday morning (September 4) is also likely to be irregular and at low pressure.
The civic body has appealed to residents in the affected areas to store sufficient water in advance and use it judiciously.
