Pune: Ritesh Hange Arrested in Ketan Agarwal Murder Case; Police Get Custody Till September 12

Pune, 5th September 2026: Pune Rural Police have arrested Ritesh Hange in connection with the alleged murder of Ketan Agarwal at Lohagad Fort. Police allege that Hange was involved in the conspiracy to kill Agarwal and had been in contact with the prime accused, Chetan Chaudhary, and Siya.

Hange was arrested on Friday night and produced before a court, which remanded him to police custody until September 12, informed Pune rural SP Sandeep Singh Gill.

According to the police, Hange is a friend of Chetan Chaudhary and was in contact with both Chetan and Siya. Police suspect that the two had discussed the alleged murder plan with Hange.Investigators have also alleged that Chetan and Siya had urged Hange to accompany them to Lohagad for a walk. However, Hange did not visit Lohagad on June 18, the day Ketan Agarwal was allegedly killed.

Police are also examining Hange’s movements and interactions following Agarwal’s death.

According to investigators, Chetan allegedly met Hange soon after the murder, while Siya also spoke to him.

Hange had reportedly been in contact with Chetan since the last week of May. Pune Rural Police had earlier taken Hange into custody for questioning during the investigation. He has now been formally arrested in the case.
