Pune: Pimpri Chinchwad Police Arrest Three for Blocking Traffic to Shoot Social Media Reels on Road

Pimpri Chinchwad, 9th September 2026: Pimpri Chinchwad Police have arrested three youths for allegedly blocking traffic and performing stunts with cars while shooting social media reels in the Mahalunge MIDC area. One of their associates is absconding.

According to police, four youths were allegedly driving four large cars together from Sant Tukaram Chowk towards Mindewadi Road. They then stopped the vehicles in the middle of the road and parked them parallel to each other to shoot videos using a drone camera, causing traffic disruption.

The incident occurred around 7 pm on September 3 on the road opposite Time Company in Mahalunge MIDC. The video was later circulated on social media, prompting Police Inspector Anil Devre to launch an investigation. After identifying the youths and the vehicles, police arrested three accused and seized all four cars.

The arrested accused have been identified as Ram Hiramani Raut, a resident of Bhandoli in Khed taluka; Sahil Barku Jambhale, from Vasuli in Khed; and Aditya Kalas Nibhade, from Bhandoli. A case has also been registered against their associate Pranav Malak Pachpute, a resident of Vasuli, who is currently absconding.

Police said the accused endangered the safety of other road users by deliberately creating an obstruction for the purpose of shooting reels.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Shweta Khedkar said, “As soon as the video shot on the Mahalunge MIDC road came to light, we took the matter seriously and launched an investigation. A case has been registered for endangering the lives of citizens by creating traffic obstruction, and the vehicles have been seized.”

Police said similar incidents have also been reported on the Mumbai-Bengaluru Highway earlier, where youths allegedly performed stunts and shot reels using expensive vehicles. The activities reportedly caused traffic congestion around Bhor and Bhujbal Chowk.

Following a complaint from a traveller, police registered cases against the drivers and the person recording the videos.

Police have warned that using public roads and highways for stunts or reel-making not only puts other motorists at risk but can also cause traffic congestion and lead to legal action.
