Nashik Kumbh Mela 2027: NTKMA Seeks Land For Temporary Parking Facilities
Nashik, 10th September 2026: The Nashik-Trimbakeshwar Kumbh Mela Authority (NTKMA) is taking steps to increase parking capacity and strengthen traffic and mobility management arrangements ahead of the Simhastha Kumbh Mela 2027.
As part of the initiative, the NTKMA will soon invite applications from private landowners and other eligible entities willing to offer suitable land parcels for use as temporary parking facilities during the Kumbh Mela period. Detailed information about the process and application procedure will also be made available on the official website of the Divisional Commissioner, Nashik.
In view of the anticipated increase in vehicular movement during the event and the need to supplement existing public parking infrastructure, the NTKMA is exploring the use of privately owned land along key approach roads and traffic corridors.
The identified areas may include Gangapur Road, Peth Road, Dindori Road, Dhule Road, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Road, Pune Road, Kashyapi Dam Road, Mumbai Road and Jawhar Road, among other locations identified under the overall traffic and mobility plan. These locations are indicative and may be revised based on operational requirements and detailed traffic assessments.
Interested landowners must have suitable road access and clear ownership or lawful possession of the land. The suitability of each parcel will be assessed by the NTKMA based on factors such as location, accessibility, available area, connectivity with identified traffic corridors, traffic management requirements, safety considerations and overall operational feasibility.
Where selected, the development, operation and maintenance of temporary parking facilities will be the responsibility of the participating landowners or eligible entities. These activities will have to be undertaken at their own cost and risk, subject to the terms and conditions prescribed by the NTKMA.
Detailed eligibility criteria, participation terms, application procedures, timelines and other relevant information will be communicated through the authority’s official channels.
The NTKMA will also issue periodic updates, as required, regarding the process and related developments. Prospective landowners and eligible stakeholders have been advised to refer to official communications from the NTKMA and the Divisional Commissioner, Nashik, for the latest information.
