Pune: Two Arrested, Two Women Rescued in Yerawada Police Operation Over Alleged Sex Racket
Pune, 18th September 2026: Yerawada police have arrested two men for allegedly arranging women for customers through phone bookings and sending them to lodges in the Yerawada and Kalyani Nagar areas. Police also rescued two women during the operation.
The arrested accused have been identified as Raj Rajeshamsavita (28), a resident of Kharadi, and Sunil Shivaji Shinde (37), a resident of Kalepadal in Hadapsar.
According to police, they received information that a broker and his associates were allegedly contacting customers over the phone and arranging women for them at a hotel in the Yerawada area. The women were allegedly sent to lodges in Yerawada and Kalyani Nagar after customers paid a fixed amount.
Acting on the information, police deployed a decoy customer and kept watch on the hotel on the instructions of Senior Police Inspector Umesh Gite. After confirming the information, police raided the premises and rescued two women who were allegedly being forced into the illegal activity.
During the inquiry, police obtained information about the persons allegedly operating the network. The investigation team subsequently laid a trap near Upper Kharadi Road and detained Raj Savita and Sunil Shinde.
A court has remanded both accused to police custody. Further investigation is underway.

(Zone 4) Chilumula Rajnikant and ACP Sunil Jaitapurkar.
Senior Police Inspector Umesh Gite, Crime Branch inspectors Sharda Kokate and Keshav Dinde, Police Sub-Inspector Kishor Berad and their teams participated in the operation.
