Pune, 18th September 2026: In view of the heavy footfall of devotees during Ganeshotsav, Pune Metro will operate its services until 2am from today (Friday). The extension has been introduced considering the crowds gathering in the central peth areas for Ganpati darshan and the limited availability of public transport late at night.

Metro services during peak hours will also run at increased frequency, with trains available at intervals of five minutes. The extended service is expected to make it easier for devotees to return home after visiting the central areas late at night.

The metro administration has also put measures in place to manage possible crowding at stations. Devotees travelling on the PCMC-Swargate route have been advised to alight at Kasba Peth station and continue their journey from there. Similarly, those travelling on the Vanaz-Ramwadi route have been advised to get off at PMC station to proceed towards the Ganpati darshan areas.

The metro administration has also advised commuters to avoid Mahatma Phule Mandai station, as it is likely to witness heavy crowding.
