Pune Airport Yatri Seva Abhiyan: Ram Mohan Naidu, Murlidhar Mohol Launch Passenger Service Campaign
Pune, 18th September 2026: Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu, Minister of State for Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol and Civil Aviation Secretary Samir Kumar Sinha visited Pune Airport on Thursday and flagged off the Yatri Seva Abhiyan, a nationwide campaign being observed at airports from September 17 to October 10.
The campaign focuses on improving the passenger experience through better service, cleanliness, hospitality, passenger welfare and greater engagement with travellers. A series of activities were organised at Pune Airport to highlight the passenger-centric approach under the campaign.
On their arrival, Naidu and Sinha were accorded a traditional welcome with tika by airport staff in the presence of passengers. The programme began with the rendition of Vande Mataram near the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
As part of the environmental initiatives under the campaign, Naidu, Mohol and Sinha participated in a tree plantation drive under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative. The activity highlighted environmental conservation and sustainable practices at airports.
A Swachhta Campaign was also organised with the participation of schoolchildren. The students joined the cleanliness drive at the airport and interacted with the visiting officials. The initiative sought to promote awareness about cleanliness and civic responsibility among children.
The contribution of frontline personnel was recognised through the felicitation of housekeeping staff at Pune Airport. The staff members were acknowledged for their role in maintaining cleanliness, hygiene and a welcoming environment for passengers.
The programme also included the felicitation of passengers travelling on Fly91 RCS flight IC 5206 from Pune to Jalgaon. The interaction highlighted the role of regional air connectivity in improving accessibility and connecting cities and regions through air travel.
During the visit, the officials inspected the terminal building and passenger facilities, including the children’s play area, Udan Yatri Café, Relax Zone and Flybrary. They reviewed the facilities with a focus on cleanliness, passenger convenience and service delivery.
A free medical camp organised at the terminal building was also inspected as part of the passenger welfare activities being undertaken during the campaign.
The officials subsequently interacted with passengers at the terminal and sought their feedback on the facilities and services available at Pune Airport. The interaction was aimed at understanding passenger requirements and identifying areas for improvement in the airport experience.
The Yatri Seva Abhiyan, being observed at airports across the country from September 17 to October 10, brings together initiatives focused on passenger services, cleanliness, environmental sustainability, passenger welfare and engagement with frontline staff. The activities at Pune Airport formed part of the nationwide campaign aimed at improving passenger experience and service delivery at airports.
