Pune Homebuyers Await Rs 106.72 Crore in Refunds, Compensation Despite MahaRERA Orders
Pune, 19th September 2026: Homebuyers in Pune district are still awaiting nearly Rs 106.72 crore in refunds and compensation despite orders issued by the Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA), with recovery pending in 176 cases.
The district has 475 MahaRERA recovery cases involving Rs 332.53 crore. While some cases have been resolved through mutual settlements, a substantial amount remains stuck in the recovery process.
Of the total cases, 180 involving Rs 119.08 crore have been settled through mutual agreements. Auctions of properties worth Rs 9.53 crore have also been successfully completed in 16 cases.
Recovery warrants amounting to Rs 87.01 crore have been issued in 133 cases, while 82 cases involving Rs 86.02 crore are undergoing court proceedings.
Haveli taluka has the highest number of pending cases, with 46 cases involving Rs 45.59 crore. In Pune city, 13 cases involving Rs 19.68 crore are pending, while Shirur has 16 cases involving Rs 2.73 crore.
Although the recovery process is being carried out through the district collector’s office, the large number of pending cases has delayed payments to homebuyers. The data highlights the gap between MahaRERA orders and actual recovery of money, with buyers continuing to wait for amounts awarded to them.
