Maharashtra MBA-MMS Admissions: 78.66% Seats Filled, 21.34% Vacant After Four CAP Rounds

Pune, 19th September 2026: Nearly 79% of the seats available for MBA (Master of Business Administration) and MMS (Master of Management Studies) admissions in Maharashtra for the 2026-27 academic year have been filled, with 12,143 seats (21.34%) remaining vacant after the completion of the centralised and institutional admission process.

According to the Maharashtra State CET Cell, 44,788 students secured admission against 56,931 seats across 412 colleges. The number of admissions increased by 2,111 compared with last year, when 42,677 students were admitted.

Of the vacant seats, 11,000 were under the Centralised Admission Process (CAP), while 1,143 were management quota seats.

A total of 57,683 students registered** for the admission process this year. The first CAP round saw 19,783 admissions, followed by 11,225 in the second round, 4,410 in the third and 2,820 in the fourth.

The institutional round accounted for 1,642 admissions, while 4,422 admissions were made through the CAP process, 467 under the minority quota and 19 under the Jammu and Kashmir and AICTE quotas.

Data from the past four years indicates a steady rise in MBA-MMS admissions across the state.
