Pune Ganeshotsav 2026: ‘Punwadi to Pune’ Light and Sound Show Takes Visitors Through City’s Glorious History
Pune, 20th September 2026: The rich and glorious history of Pune is being brought to life at Shaniwar Wada through the ‘Punwadi to Pune’ Light and Sound Show, a special initiative showcasing the city’s historical journey through light, sound and modern technology.

The show was inaugurated by Pune Mayor Manjusha Deepak Nagpure at the Shaniwar Wada premises. The initiative has been organised by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) in association with Pune First.
The audiovisual presentation traces Pune’s journey from its historical identity as ‘Punwadi’ to modern-day Pune. Through a combination of light, sound and modern technology, the show presents the city’s rich heritage and historical evolution to visitors.
The initiative offers Pune residents and visitors an opportunity to experience the city’s history in a modern and engaging format during the ongoing Ganeshotsav celebrations.
Citizens have been encouraged to attend the show and experience Pune’s journey from Punwadi to the modern city.
