Pune Ketan Agarwal Murder: Chargesheet Details Probe Into Siya-Chetan’s Alleged Secret Marriage In Rajasthan
Pune, 22nd September 2026: The investigation into the murder of Ketan Agarwal led Pune rural police to Rajasthan’s Khatu Shyam temple in search of evidence of an alleged secret marriage between accused Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary. However, police found no official record or CCTV footage to establish that the two had married there.
During a search of Siya’s house, police found another mobile phone containing a photograph of Siya and Chetan wearing flower garlands. The photograph has been included in the chargesheet as part of the evidence cited by police regarding their alleged relationship.
According to the investigation, Siya and Chetan had been in close contact since October 2025. Their families were allegedly opposed to their relationship. In December 2025, the two travelled to Rajasthan with some friends. They had initially planned to fly from Pune, but after the flight was cancelled, they travelled by train and returned by train.
Police said an examination of their mobile phone conversations indicated that the two had discussed getting married without informing their families. To verify the suspected marriage, a Pune rural police team visited Rajasthan on July 7 and made inquiries at the Khatu Shyam temple. However, no marriage-related documents or CCTV footage were found, and the alleged marriage could not be established during the investigation.
Meanwhile, police have alleged that Siya and Chetan conspired to eliminate Ketan before his proposed marriage to Siya. Siya’s family had arranged her marriage with Ketan, and the couple got engaged on February 19, 2026. Their wedding was scheduled to take place in Udaipur in November 2026.
The investigation found that a fake Instagram account was allegedly created in the name of “Mahi”, a fictitious friend. Police said Siya used the pretext of celebrating Mahi’s birthday to persuade Ketan to accompany her to Lohgarh.
According to the police theory, once they reached Lohgad, Chetan moved close to Ketan as part of the alleged plan to push him. At the same time, Siya sat down and began tying her shoelaces. Police have alleged that Ketan was then pushed and that Siya also pushed him.
The police have included the alleged fake Instagram account, mobile data, evidence related to the Rajasthan trip, the photograph of Siya and Chetan wearing garlands, and evidence related to the Lohgad incident in the chargesheet.
