Pune: Bombay High Court Questions Why Parth Pawar Was Not Made Accused in Mundhwa Land Case
Pune, 2nd October 2026: The Bombay High Court on Thursday questioned why Rajya Sabha MP Parth Pawar, who holds a 99% stake in Amadea Enterprises LLP, has not been made an accused in a case concerning the alleged purchase of 40 acres of government land in Pune’s Mundhwa area at a price allegedly lower than its market value.
Justice Madhav Jamdar raised the question while hearing the anticipatory bail plea of suspended Pune tehsildar Suryakant Yewale. The court noted that while Pawar holds a 99% stake in the partnership firm, Digvijay Patil, who holds only a 1% stake, has been made an accused in the case.
The court questioned how a person holding a 99% stake in the firm could not be considered a beneficiary of the transaction, while an individual holding only a 1% stake had been made an accused.
The court also noted that Pawar is the son of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar.
During the hearing, the Maharashtra Director General of Police submitted an affidavit outlining the steps proposed for further investigation. The court was informed that the Pune Police had been directed to conduct a detailed and professional investigation into the matter. The DGP also stated that he would personally monitor the progress of the investigation.
The court accepted the DGP’s statement regarding the further investigation.
The case concerns alleged irregularities in a transaction involving 40 acres of government land in Mundhwa. The investigation is continuing.
